Robert Cringely (foto) è uno che ci va pesante. Corrosivo e controcorrente, non mi ha deluso nemmeno in occasione dell’annunciata “svolta epocale” di Apple, quando ha pubblicato un velenoso (e convincente) articolo nel quale smonta gli entusiasmi e formula una teoria affascinante: l’accordo Apple – Intel non è che il primo passo della fusione tra le due aziende. Secondo Cringely le ragioni all’origine dell’accordo con Intel addotte da Jobs sono inconsistenti e il giornalista le smonta una ad una per poi formulare la sua personalissima “conspiracy theory”: “Intel is fed up with Microsoft. Microsoft has no innovation that drives what Intel must have, which is a use for more processing power (…) So Intel buys Apple and works with their OEMs to get products out in the market. (…) That’s the story as I see it unfolding. Steve Jobs finally beats Bill Gates”. Voi cosa ne pensate?
