L’emittente televisiva Britannica, sempre più orientata verso la rete e le nuove tecnologie, ne ha pensata un’altra: creare una sua versione di Second Life adatta ai bambini e dove i pargoli possano liberamente creare ” virtual versions of themselves on-screen, called avatars. Their characters can then move around CBBC World. There they will also be able to take part in games, animations, videos and music, create their own content and send their work to other CBBC World users. Children can also upload their work on to a gallery and the best will be used on the CBBC TV channel”. Il nuovo mondo virtuale vivrà una fase di test a partire dall’inizio della prossima estate, per poi essere lanciato ufficialmente solo a settembre. Un progetto interessante e, a ben vedere, in diretta concorrenza con la versione Teen del Second Life originale.
